For specific information about your room, please select your residence from the list below. If you have received an offer of accommodation, you will find your residence and room number within your contract.

Central Village

All rooms are en suite and there are both single and dual occupancy studio flats available. If sharing a studio, please note that you would both share the same sleeping area and do not have two separate bedrooms. 

Shared flats in clusters of 5 or 6 rooms.

Standard en suite rooms have 4ft (or ¾) double beds. Premium en suite rooms in blocks A, B and C and single occupancy studios have full size double beds. Shared or double occupancy studios have single beds.

Premium en suite rooms in Block D have full size double beds, except the following which have 4ft (or ¾) double beds: 131.6, 133.1, 135.6, 137.1, 139.6, 141.1, 143.6, 145.1, 147.6, 149.1, 151.6, 153.1, 155.6, 157.1, 159.1, 161.1, 163.6, 165.1, 167.6, 169.1, 171.6, 173.1, 175.6, 177.1, 179.6, 181.1, 183.6, 185.1, 187.6, 189.1, 191.6, 193.1, 195.6, 198.6

Studio flats are all located in Block C.

Single occupancy studios are as follows:

Charles Morris Hall

Located in the heart of the University campus behind the Students' Union, Charles Morris Hall consists of Storm Jameson Court, Dobree and Whetton.

In Dobree and Whetton, most residents share a small shower room/WC with just one other resident. In Whetton, there is also a wash basin in the shared bathroom. In Dobree, there's a wash basin in your room. There are a small number of en suites too (rooms 103, 104, 107, 108, 109, 207, 303, 304, 307 to 309, 407, 507, 607, 703 and 706, plus room 804 in Whetton).

All rooms in Dobree and Whetton have single beds.

Storm Jameson Court consists of two blocks (known as East and West) and every room is en suite and has a safe and telephone in your room (except one 3 bed cluster flat which has a shared bathroom). Your accommodation contract will specify whether you are in East or West block, and there will be a series of numbers which represent (in the following order): your floor number, the number of your kitchen and lastly your room number. For example, if you are in 'West 7.K6.739' this means you are in Storm Jameson West on floor level 7, you share kitchen number 6 and your room number is 739. Day to day your room is referred to as West 739.

All rooms in Storm Jameson have 4ft double beds.

All residents at Charles Morris can enjoy home comforts in their flat/on their corridors, such as flat screen TV, comfy chairs and lots of fridge freezer space. In addition, there's a well-equipped common room for everyone (located in the East block of Storm Jameson) complete with pool tables, projector TV and comfy chairs. For added convenience, the site is staffed 24 hours a day.


All rooms are en-suite and have full sized double beds. A small number of the en-suite rooms also have baths with a shower over the bath. Rooms with baths are all in Block 2 and are as follows:

Devonshire Hall

Catered Rooms 

There are 247 students in our catered accommodation - the Old Hall, Coach House, the Main building Blocks A, B, C, D, North, South, N, O, P, Q, and R, Grosvenor E block and the annexes Springhill, Elmfield, Ruse, Ridgefield.

Most rooms are standard (i.e. not en-suite). The following rooms however, are en-suite:

  • Main Hall: rooms A01, A10, B01, B10, C01, C02, C11, D01, D02, D12, N01, N10, NSW, NTH11, O01, O10, P01, P02, P11, Q01, Q02, Q11, R06 and STH1A

  • Grosvenor Block E: all rooms

All rooms have ¾ (4ft) double beds.

Self-catered rooms

There are 345 students in our self-catering accommodation - Grosvenor Blocks A, B, C and D, North Lawn blocks F, G, H, J and K, the Orchards, 8 and 14 North Hill Road and White Lodge.

Most rooms are standard (i.e. not en-suite). The following rooms however, are en-suite:

  • Grosvenor Blocks A-D: all rooms

Most rooms have ¾ (4ft) double beds in the room, however the following have single beds:

  • 8 North Hill Road: 04, 05, 07, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17

  • 14 North Hill Road: All rooms

  • White Lodge: 05, 06, 07 and 08

Ellerslie Global Residence

The main hall is at 28-34 Lyddon Terrace. The two annexes are on Lyddon Terrace at numbers 15-19 and 37-41.

There are 48 rooms in the main hall. All rooms are standard except for room 31, which is en-suite.

There are 31 rooms in 37-41 Lyddon Terrace, all of which are en-suite.

There are 18 rooms in 15-19 Lyddon Terrace, all are standard rooms with shared bathroom facilities.

Some rooms also have double beds, these are as follows:

  • Main Hall: rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 10A, 10B, 11, 12, 20, 21, 30, 36, 38, 44, 45 and 46
  • 37-41 Lyddon Terrace: rooms 74, 75, 76, 82, 91, 92, 95, 97 and 101
  • 15-19 Lyddon Terrace: rooms 47, 48, 51, 53, 74, 75, 76, 82, 91, 92, 95, 97, 101

Grayson Heights

The accommodation is made up of one building with 12 floors.

There are two shared flats for single students on every floor and two family flats, all of which have lift access. Every shared flat has five bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom with WC, a separate bathroom and a separate WC. Each flat also has a washing machine.

Rooms 2, 3 and 5 have double beds and rooms 1 and 4 have single beds.

Henry Price Residences

There are five blocks, or staircases, in the Henry Price Building - B to F. Each block has a sign near its front entrance so you can see which it is. Your room number tells you exactly where you are in the building. For example, D3.02 is in block D, on floor 3, flat 0, room 2.

Blocks B to E have 9 rooms per flat, with room 1 being en-suite and the others as standard rooms.

Block F has 8 rooms per flat, with rooms 1 and 8 being en-suite, the rest standard.

All standard rooms share a WC and shower between 2.

All rooms have single beds.  

IQ Leeds

iQ Leeds has 4 blocks of en-suite rooms and studio flats (not available to University of Leeds students).

All rooms leased by the University of Leeds have en-suite facilities and are arranged in flats of 3, 4 or 5 students. The flats will be spread across Blocks B2 and B3. 

All rooms have 4ft double beds. 

James Baillie Park

There are five blocks (A-E). All rooms in blocks B-E are en-suite, in cluster flats. In Block A, aside from the studio flats (listed below), if you are in rooms 022 or lower you are in an en-suite flat, flats 023 and above are in standard (i.e. not en-suite) cluster flats. 

Studio flats are as follows: 

  • Block A rooms 003, 004, 005, 008, 009, 010, 013, 014, 015, 018, 019, 020, 024, 025, 026, 029, 030, 031, 034, 035, 036, 039, 040 and 041 
  • Block B rooms 044 and 053
  • Block C rooms 072, 073, 076, 077, 080, 081, 084 and 085
  • Block D rooms 098, 099, 111 and 112
  • Block E rooms 123, 124, 135 and 136

Some rooms at James Baillie have double beds, and they are:

  • Block A: 004, 009, 014, 019, 022C, 022D, 023C, 024, 026, 027A, 028C, 029, 031, 032A, 033C, 034, 036, 037A, 038C, 039, 041 and 042A 
  • Block C: 077, 081 and 085
  • Block D: 098, 099, 111, 112
  • Block E: 123, 124, 135 and 136

All other rooms have single beds. 

Leodis Residences

Your room number tells you exactly where you are in the building. There are two or three flats on each floor (1, 2 and 3) and most flats have five or six rooms. For example, C2.34 is in block C, on floor 2, flat 3, room 4.

All rooms at Leodis are en-suite, except for A1.13, A1.14, A1.21 and A1.22, which share a large shower/WC between 2. There are lifts in every block, except Block A which is a mill-conversion.

All rooms have ¾ double beds.

Liberty Dock

All rooms are en-suite and flats are shared between 5 or 6. Blocks C and D are the largest, with 5 floors and 3 flats per floor, and both blocks have a lift. Most of the other blocks have 4 floors with 2 flats per floor, except for Blocks A, F, J and M which only have 3 floors. The residence office is situated to the left of the front gates as you enter. The bar/cafe is located across from Block C and the laundry can be found across from Block D.

All rooms have ¾ double beds (4ft).

Lupton Residences

There are fifteen blocks on site - A to P (with no block I). Each block has a sign near its front entrance so you can see which it is.

Nearly all blocks have nine flats, three on each floor (1, 2 and 3), housing 45 students per block (five per flat). For example, C3.14 is in Block C, on floor 3, flat 1, room 4. Block P has only two floors, with one flat on each floor. All rooms are standard (not ensuite).

All rooms have single beds.

Lyddon Hall

Consisting of a Main Hall and 7 annexes; 13-23 Cromer Terrace, 25 Cromer Terrace, 27-31 Cromer Terrace, 32 Springfield Mount, 10 Clarendon Place, 17 Clarendon Placeand 27 Clarendon Place.

Most rooms are standard (i.e. not en-suite). The following rooms however, are en-suite: 

  • Main Hall: Rooms 30 - 32 are partially en-suite (rooms contain a shower but no WC).
  • 13-23 Cromer Terrace: rooms 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.7, 1.9, 1.14, 2.10, 2.11, 2.16, 3.10, 3.11 and 3.16
  • 27-31 Cromer Terrace: rooms 101 - 105 and 110 - 113

Most rooms have single beds, however, the following rooms have double beds: 

  • Main Hall: rooms 1-9, 11-28, 30, 31, 32, 45, 47 and 50
  • 13-23 Cromer Terrace: rooms 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.7, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 1.14, 2.1, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12, 2.13, 2.15, 2.16, 3.1, 3.2, 3.5, 3.6, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11, 3.12, 3.13, 3.15, 3.16
  • 25 Cromer Terrace: rooms 1 - 6
  • 10 Clarendon Place: rooms 65, 66, 67, 71 and 72
  • 17 Clarendon Place: rooms 111 - 114
  • 27 Clarendon Place: rooms 102, 103, 104, 106 and 108-114
  • 27/31 Cromer Terrace: rooms 102-109 and 111-117
  • 32 Springfield Mount: rooms 1-5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16

Mary Morris House

Your room number explains where in the Residence you will be living. The first digit refers to the block number, the second digit refers to the floor within the block, the third digit is the flat number that your room will be in and finally, the last digit is your room number.

For example room 332.1 will be in Block 3, on the 3rd floor, in flat number 2 and will be room number 1.

All rooms are standard (i.e. not en suite) and have 4ft double beds.

Montague Burton

There are thirteen blocks on site - A to N with no block I. Each block has a sign near its front entrance so you can see which it is.

Your room number tells you exactly where you are on the site. There are usually two flats on every floor and each flat has five rooms. For example, C3.14 is in block C, on floor 3, flat 1, room 4.

Blocks A, M and N were refurbished 2016. In these blocks, you will be in a flat of 4 or 9 people. Bathroom facilities are shared between 4 (in the 4 person flats) or have 3 bathrooms between 9 in the 9 person flats. 

All rooms in blocks A, M and N have 4ft double beds.

All other blocks contain 5 person flats, and bathroom & kitchen facilities are shared between 5. All rooms have a washbasin in them and contain single beds.

North Hill Court

All flats are shared between 4 residents, except for flats 10 and 20 which house 6.

With the exception of flats 10 and 20, rooms 1 and 2 of every flat are very large, room 3 is large and room 4 is standard.

All rooms are standard (i.e. not en-suite) and the following rooms have 4 foot (3/4) double beds: 2.4, 3.4, 4.4, 5.4, 6.4, 7.4, 8.4, 9.4, 12.4, 13.4, 14.4, 15.4, 16.4, 17.4, 18.4 and 19.4.

Rooms in flats 10 (10.1 - 10.6) and 20 (20.1 - 20.6) have single beds.

All other rooms have double beds.

Oxley Residences

The site consists of Oxley House, its annexe Bardon Grange and Blocks A to M.

In Oxley House and Bardon Grange, the rooms are standard and most have wash basins in each room (rooms 14, 15 and 16 in Barden Grange do not have a washbasin). Most rooms have single beds, however in Bardon Grange rooms 1-4, 6-9 and 13 have double beds.

Blocks A - M are en-suite and all rooms have a 4ft (¾) double bed.

Royal Park Flats

All bedrooms are being refurbished this summer, so will be new for students moving into Royal Park Flats in September 2017. Rooms are standard, with shared bathrooms, and will have 3/4 size double beds.

Sentinel Towers

There are two blocks at Sentinel Towers - Tower A with eight floors (containing 21 flats) and Tower B with nine floors (24 flats), and there are four to eight students per flat.

Your room number tells you exactly where you are in the building. The first number tells you which floor you are on, the second number is your flat, and the third number is your room. e.g. A1.23 is in Tower A, on floor 1, flat 2 and room number 3.

All rooms in Sentinel Towers are en-suite. 

Most rooms have 4ft double (¾) beds, although a small number have single beds. The rooms with single beds are listed below:

  • Tower A: A1.05, A2.06, A2.14, A2.26, A3.06, A3.26, A4.06, A4.26, A5.06, A5.26, A6.06, A6.26, A7.06, A7.26, A8.07

St Marks Residence

Bedrooms are furnished with:

  • 4ft (or ¾) double bed
  • safety deposit box

Every room is en-suite and features a large shower, WC, wash hand basin, mirror and a storage shelf for toiletries.

The majority of flats have 6 residents, however, there are some flats of 4, 5, 7 or 9 residents.

The Tannery

There are 4 blocks at The Tannery (A-D). All rooms are en-suite. 

All rooms have 4ft double beds.

In the en-suite rooms, kitchen facilities are shared between 6 (some between 3).

All bedrooms also have curtains and carpet.

Not included:

Bedding (except in Ellerslie Global Residence) and towels. You can buy a Bedding Pack (a duvet, duvet cover, pillow, pillow case and fitted sheet) from us. You can order this before you arrive.


If you have an en suite room, you will have your own shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet.

If you are in a standard room (not en suite), you will share shower and toilet facilities with other residents. (The number of people sharing will depend on the residence.) Some standard rooms also have a washbasin in the bedroom.

Kitchen and communal area

  • Cooker – usually with 4 hotplates, a grill and an oven
  • Microwave
  • Fridge/freezer
  • Cupboards
  • Sink – mostly with separate taps for hot and cold water (i.e. no mixer tap)

Common room

In many University residences there is a communal area (“common room”) to relax or socialise in. The common room may also be used for social activities organised by the Hall Executive Committee.

Not all residences have common rooms and sizes and facilities vary. They typically contain comfortable chairs or sofas and some also offer a TV, DVD player and pool table. Check Our residences for individual residence facilities.
