Visiting the residences

Traffic may be heavy in and around Leeds so you should allow plenty of time for your journey between sites. Full details of how to get to each residence can be found in our Viewing Day Guide – it will be available to download closer to the event and copies will also be available on the day).

By car

You can drive to the residences yourself – directions are available on each of the residence pages. The postcodes for our residences are also listed in the Viewing Day Guide on each residence profile. Parking is not available at every hall of residence, so please consider using public buses, shuttle buses or walking, if appropriate.

On foot

Charles Morris Hall, Lyddon Hall, Henry Price Residences and Ellerslie Global Residence are all on campus. Most of our other residences are just a short walk away and all of our residences are within 2 miles of campus.

Walking instructions are provided on each residence profile page in the Viewing Day Guide and signage will be displayed along the walking routes. The suggested walking routes for the on campus residences are shown on the campus map in the Viewing Day Guide.

Shuttle bus

Free shuttle buses will be operating between residences. This is not a coach tour but rather a 'hop on, hop off' service with several coaches/mini buses doing the same route. This means you will arrive on one and leave on another.

The shuttle buses will depart regularly from outside the University main entrance on Woodhouse Lane, so just turn up and get on the appropriate one (you can look at the shuttle bus routes in our Viewing Day Guide, or ask one of our helpers on the day).

By public bus

Most of our students make use of the great public transport system in Leeds and you may like to do the same. There are frequent bus services running from the city centre to our residences until the early hours of the morning.

The main bus stops are just outside the main University entrance (the Parkinson Building) and the buses stop close to each residence - please consider taking a public bus rather than waiting for a shuttle bus if it starts to get busy. Services 1, 1B, 6, 8, 27, 28, & 29 all operate directly past the Parkinson Building.

Please see the First Leeds website for more information about public bus services.

Take care

Please take care when travelling between the residences, especially when getting on or off the shuttle buses. Many of the shuttle bus stops are on main roads and the nearest safe crossing point may not be immediately next to the bus stop. Ask a member of staff for assistance if required.

If you need urgent assistance on the day, please ask a member of staff or call the University Security Services on 0113 343 2222.
