Early arrivals

If you are a student arriving from outside the U.K. who needs to arrive before the University of Leeds accommodation contract starts:

We will be able to assist you with accommodation.  If available, we will move you into your University of Leeds term-time room on your arrival date and if your term-time room is not available early, we will place you into temporary accommodation.

You must have completed all formalities set out in our booking process before moving in, namely:

  • paid your £200 deposit
  • accepted your offer of term-time accommodation

During the 14 days before your arrival to the UK, if you are departing from, travelling through, or making a transit stop (a ‘transit stop’ is a stop where passengers can get on or off a coach, ferry, train or plane. Your ticket should say if a stop is a transit stop) via a country that is not listed on the link below, you must isolate yourself in your accommodation for 14 days on arrival to the UK

If you do need to isolate yourself in your accommodation on arrival (see UK Government guidance on travelling to the UK), the following conditions will apply:

  • we will provide you with up to 2 weeks’ accommodation, rent free (before 4 January 2021);
  • you will need to pay rent from and including the first day of the teaching year even if you have not completed your period of isolation by then;
  • we will provide you with appropriate support, such as arranging for delivery of food you have purchased to your flat if necessary, or arranging to contact you regularly by telephone
