Trip to Lotherton Hall and Wildlife World

We’re heading on a day trip to Lotherton Hall on Wednesday 22 March. You’ll get the chance to explore the history of the great Gascoigne house, and also see lots of animals in their Wildlife World, including penguins, flamingos and maybe even a capybara! Keep an eye out for more details about how to book your place on our Instagram account and Facebook groups

Teach First Opportunities

The Teach First Taster Programme is open for applications for all students yet to enter their final year of studies. This is a chance to boost your CV and develop leadership skills to help you stand out from the crowd.

On the Taster Programme, you will:

  • Develop transferable skills that all employers are looking for
  • Add Times Top 100 employer to your CV
  • Discover what it's like to teach
  • Network with our corporate partners and like-minded students
  • Increase your chances of getting an offer to our Training Programme, with an application fast track
  • Receive tailored feedback from experts

This year, Teach First are hosting a specialised Taster Programme – the Black Talent in STEM Taster Programme, organised in partnership with Sir Lewis Hamilton’s Mission 44. We need more Black STEM leaders in education. Too many pupils go through their entire school life with no Black teachers at all. This is even starker in STEM subjects, with a huge lack of Black teachers in Science. Without representation and role models, young Black pupils are less likely to engage with these subjects – and further, still, pursue careers related to them. Check out the underrepresented talent section of the application below to find out more.

Teach First Taster Programme applications are open here

If you are in your final year, then the Teach First Training Programme 22/23 will close for applications on Thursday 23 March. Apply now to be in the classroom this September – you’ll be earning a salary, gaining a fully funded Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Leadership (PGDE) and making a real difference to the lives of young people.
