Great Food at Leeds (GFaL)  

Welcome to  Great Food at Leeds, the University’s catering service which offers high quality, fresh food and drink at competitive prices. Whether you’re looking for a coffee to takeaway, sandwich on the move or fancy sitting down to a hot, nutritious meal, you’ll find what you are looking for in of our many cafés across campus or in our award-winning Refectory. 

Living in a catered residence  

If you live in Dobree or Whetton blocks of Charles Morris, Ellerslie Global Residence or Lyddon Hall then you are in a catered residence and have meals provided for you as part of your rent.  

To access your Meal Plan package, download the GFaL Rewards app from the  App Store  or  Google Play. Sign up using your name and University email address, this is linked to your Meal Plan account, and verify your account with the six digit code sent to your email. Scan your in-app QR code at the till when making a purchase to use your credit. 

How your meal plan works 

Your Meal Plan is topped up daily, during term time with credit that can be spent in  the Refectory  and all Great Food at Leeds cafés on campus. It is important to note that unused credit will not be carried over to the following day. 
 
Weekdays -  8am – 6.30pm: £16.10 per day   
Weekends –10am – 2pm: £8.90 per day   
 
You can use your Meal Plan credit during the following dates:   
Term 1: Saturday 20 September to Friday 12 December 2025   
Term 2: Saturday 10 January to Friday 27 March 2026   
Term 3: Saturday 25 April to Friday 19 June 2026 

Catering Outlet Opening Times  

The Refectory 

Located right at the heart of University campus, the contemporary Refectory venue is the main eatery on campus and offers a wide range of hot and cold food each day. Food is freshly prepared each day by a team of chefs, offering a wide range of options inspired from across the world, including deli wraps, salad bowls, southern fried chicken, pizza, street food bowls, comforting classics, the new Nourish menu and more.

Usual term time opening hours: 
Monday to Friday: 8am – 6.30pm  
Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 2pm 

Cafés on campus  

You will find Great Food at Leeds cafés across campus. Welcoming spaces, serving barista made coffee, freshly baked pastries, grab and go meal deals and a wide selection of sweet treats. Whether you’re a hot drink between lectures or sitting down to refuel with friends, Great Food at Leeds cafés have plenty of tasty food and drink options.
